Movenpick's Organizational Structure.

  What does organizational structure mean? According to the Investopedia website the definition of organizational structure is  "Explicit and implicit institutional rules and policies designed to provide a structure where various work roles and responsibilities are delegated, controlled and coordinated. Organizational structure also determines how information flows from level to level within the company. In a centralized structure,which is Movenpick's management strategy, decisions flow from the top down. In a decentralized structure, the decisions are made at various different levels." However, any organization should have the right organizational (managerial) structure which makes the business process easier and interesting and of curse Movenpick has this structure. Any organization has 4 main departments which are Marketing, Human resources, Finance and operations management. Now we will see the 3 organizational structure levels diagram. 

Movenpick's Name Story

 According to (www.moevenpick.com) website that their name story is "Grab something quickly, like a seagull on the wing, and then move on. The restaurant takes its name from the German word for seagull, Möwe, with the “w” graphically transformed into a “v” because it looks more like a bird on the fly." 

But what I learned from the professor who taught me a course in Hospitality is different. I learned that Ueli Prager the founder of Movenpick  used to sale some kinds of snacks and pastries at the beach using his small cart to move everyday in that time. At the end of everyday some sesame usually stay up the table and the birds around the beach come to eat it. However, Prager made his business's name which contents move and pick and expanded his business opening restaurant then he had opened the 1sthotel and now as we know Movenpick has chain of hotels around the world. Anyway, move is his mobile cart and pick is the sound of birds when they eat the sesame (pick). Consequently, the name became one word which is Movenpick

Movenpick Hotels.

                     What is Movenpick and where is it? Movenpick Hotels Chain is one of the most famous 5 star hotels around the world. It is a European company, its headquarters is located in Switzerland, the place that first Movenpick was founded there. This company has a story of success that started in 1948 when Prager established his first Movenpick restaurant, then the story of success have been running during years. Movenpick has branches in each of Europe, Asia, Middle East, Africa, and Australia and they are working to have 100 hotels by 2015 as it written in Movenpick official website. Movenpick has unique strategy which is as Ueli Prager, the founder of Movenpick, said  "We aren't doing anything extraordinary," he was fond of saying. "We are simply successful because we are doing quite normal things in an extraordinary manner." However, That shows how his strategy is mart and effective. Actually, it is important for any business to have specific goal and the appropriate strategy to achieve that.

Hotels.

                  As we know that hotels are the places that hospitality provide in, so I am going to write about hotels in this post. Hotels has variety categories, each category has different services' levels. As examples of different hotels categories 5 stare hotels, transit hotels, Eco hotels, and railway hotels. However, as hospitality industry has business opportunities, rich people or businessmen tend to invest in this sector during the recent period. There are famous hotels companies they have hotels chain everywhere around the world. For example. Hilton, Marriott, Hyatt, four Seasons and Movenpick. As Hospitality sector has chances for investments it has strong competition around the world and as it was mentioned that hospitality has strong positive economic impact governments support this sector and actually in some countries the main economic source is tourism and hospitality industry. For instance, Thailand depends totally in tourism and hospitality industry. However, people who work in hotels usually are friendly, social, and helpful. Hospitality also has jobs opportunities for people who like to work in public.

            According to the Wikipedia website the definition of hospitality is the relationship between the guest and the host, or the act or practice of being hospitable. This includes the reception and entertainment of guests, visitors, or strangers. Hospitality has known since long time ago as a help for people who come to new places and every culture has its special hospitality style. However, hospitality has a new conception in the modern era which is hospitality industry ( hospitality as a business). Nowadays, Hospitality is one of the main sectors for countries' economies. Hospitality industry has a strong relationship with tourism industry because no of them can work alone, they have to be equal to provide a good image about a country and give economic impact. If a tourist country has a weak hospitality, people would find it hard to visit this country because tourists need to find suitable hotels to stay in for their rest time. So, usually tourist countries have a high class hotels and very nice motels for the middle class tourists. Of course hospitality is the work inside hotels to provide verity of services for guests such as rooms service, reception, food service, and tours.
